Spring is in the air, and so is festival time!
We are less than two weeks away from the official start of Spring, March 20th, (at the time of writing this post), and the events calendar is starting to fill.
Spring is a popular time for festivals, the weather is generally mild and pleasant to enjoy outdoor activities, and there are many options offering something for everyone. From music festivals to cultural celebrations, to food festivals, and flower and garden festivals.
Nature comes alive this time of year, and many of these events take place in beautiful settings surrounded by blossoming trees and spring flowers.
Looking for a new adventure? Attending a festival can be a great way to explore a new city or town.
Overall, attending a spring festival can be a great way to celebrate the season, enjoy the outdoors, and immerse yourself in new experiences.
Below are 10 annual and popular spring festivals that worth looking into too.

 

TORTUGA MUSIC FESTIVAL 

(April 14th - 16th)

Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Festival, located on the beach of Fort Lauderdale Park, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year.

If you love country music, the beach, and don’t mind crowds (large crowds) this is an extremly popular event. This years headliners include Kenny Chesney, Shania Twain, and Eric Church, with a number of other well known country artists also performing.

The festival works with Rock the Ocean Foundation to increase public awareness about issues impacting our world’s oceans.

Over the years, an impressive estimated $3 million has been given back from ticket sales to support reseach, education, and ocean conservation initiatives.

NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL    (April 28th – May 7th)

Since the beginning, over 50 years ago, this festival represents the heart of New Orleans, LA.

The event has several marketplaces for shopping local, artisan craft tents, multiple food areas serving some of the best canjun cuisine you will ever have, as well as the best of the best Jazz performances that will set your musical soul of fire.

In collaboration with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation this festival, along with other initiatives has continued to develop numerous programs and built assets that will continue to assist in teaching local children about New Orleans mission, culture, and continue its legacy.

TULIP TIME FESTIVAL  

(May 6th – 14th)

Located in Holland, MI off the coast of Lake Michigan, this 94-year-old tradition has become a favorite spring activity for many.

This week long celebration offers so many activities as well as the hundreds of thousands of tulips spread throughout the city being the main attraction.

The week long event hosts outdoor activities, events, artisan markets (both weekends), entertainment, and a parade down the main street of the city.

Wanna, take a break from the fetivities? Consider visiting Holland’s Lake Michigan coastline from Laketown Beach to Holland State Park and enjoy the goegeous sunsets this area has to offer.

NATIONAL CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL                                 (March 18th – April 16th)

Thinking of visiting D.C. this spring? March & April are arguably one of the most beautiful times to visit this area because the cherry blossoms are in bloom and the National Cherry Blossom Festival is also taking place.

This festival is 4 weeks long and celebrates the years of friendship between the people of the Unites States and Japan. This event attracts more than 1.5 million visitors each year.

The festival hosts live entrtainment, parades, and so much more. Not to mention, there is so much to see in Washington D.C., so the festival is added bonus.

As you can imagine the crowds can be large, especially on the weekend. If you looking to see all the beauty of this festival consider visiting during the week and early morning.

Best place to see the cheery blossoms? The Washington and Thomas Jefferson Monuments offer amazing views.

Also note: The cherry blossoms have begun to bloom, there are early this year. They have predicted that the blossoms will be in full bloom March 22nd – 25th.

CMAFEST 2023     

(June 8th – 11th)

Celebrating 50 years, known today as CMAFEST, is the longest country music festival in the world! It is the ultimate country music fan experience.

The festival began in the early 70’s and was called FanFair. It was a place fans from around the country could come to see, and in many cses meet their favorite country artist.

Today, this event hosts thousands of fans, features over 250 artists on 9 stages throughout Nashville, TN.

Over the past 17 years a portion of the proceeds from this event are donated through the CMA Foundation to support the K-12 music initiatives across the country.

FLOWER & GARDEN FESTIVAL EPCOT WALT DISNEY WORLD             

(March 1st – July 5th)

Epcot itself requires no introduction, as one of the popular parks within Walt Disney World. However, if you have never visited during the International Flower & Garden Festival it is a stunning and beautiful addition to an already amazing experience.

There are topiary displays, exhibits & gardens throughout the park.

Experience your favorite Disney characters as living sculptues.

Every place you walk the gorgeous gardens will be within your sight as they are everywhere throughout the park.

The festival also hosts world-renowned entertainment throughout the the festival at the American Gardens Theatre inside the park.

If you love Disney and love gardens, this is an amazing experience.

BILTMORE BLOOMS

(April 1st – May 25th)

The Biltmore Estate, located in Ashville, NC, and built by George Vanderbilt, is a tourist must see and visiting during this event and walking through these gardens is a must see.

The gardens offer more than 100K flowers in bloom, fit for a mansion of this stature.

From the entrance filled with daffodils to the orchid gardens, and nearly 80,000 tulips, just to name a few, it is a flower garden like no other.

If Ashville is on your bucket list this spring, make sure to add a visit to the Biltmore Estate.

NANTUCKET FESTIVAL 2023                (April 27th – 30th)

Nantucket is a small island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA.

You can access the island either by ferry or by air.

Since 1978, this event has evolved from what historically was a small Daffodil Show to a festival, that today, has grown into a vintage car show, daffodil festival,and so much more.

Today, you can expect to experience parades, art shows, a pet show, contests, lectures, exhibitions as well as the growing vintage car show and daffodil show.

When visiting you can also expect faithful festival-goers enthusiastically dressed up in themed daffodil attire for the event.

BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL 2023            (April 7th – 9th, 2023)

Things don’t always have to be bigger to be perfect.

The Bluebonnet Festival located in Burnet Texas Hill Country (about an hour outside of Austin) is just that, and offer something for everyone.

It is a weekend filled with live music, parades, races of all types, car shows, and lots of shopping.

TEXAS SANDFEST 2023               (April 14th – 16th)

Looking to spend a weekend at the beach and attend a spring festival? Consider Texas Sandfest, located in Port Aransas.

The weather in April is beautiful, around 80 degrees just perfect for a beach getaway.

Sandfest is the largest native-sand sculpture competition in the United States, and you can not believe these works of art.  They are incredible.

What started as a friendly competition in 1997, has grown into an event drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.

The festival offers artisan crafts, live music, and coastal food from local restaurants. There are also family friendly activities.

Did I mention the sand sculptures, who knew you could create these masterpieces.

I love that you said that this time of year, nature comes to life, and many of these activities take place in picturesque locations surrounded by budding trees and early-season flowers. Going through this made me think about how I’ve never in my life attended a festival. Maybe I can look for one these days and have fun in there. I’m so excited. https://www.comeseeme.org/
